Nick Cannon Slams Nicki Minaj, Says Mariah Carey Likely To Leave ‘Idol’?

Mariah Carey may not be talking about it on camera, but her husband, Nick Cannon, believes that "American Idol" has turned "unstable" and is comparable to "Love & Hip Hop."

Addressing continuing controversy over the back and forth between Mariah and Nicki Minaj, while doing press for the upcoming season of "America's Got Talent" Monday, Cannon said hiring Nicki was a bad idea from the start.

"No one thought it was a good idea then and no one thinks it is a good idea now," Cannon told KTLA Monday morning. "My wife foreseen all this. She tried to tell the network, ‘I don’t think this is going to work, I’m afraid, This is going to turn into one of those reality shows. I didn’t sign up to be on Love And Hip Hop."

That said, Nick says Mariah is on the fence about continuing to work with "Idol" at this point, worried about the stability of the series.

"If they get it stable she might relook at it, but she doesn’t want to be a part of anything unstable," said Cannon.
