The photo received so much attention at the time that Janet used it as the album cover art for “Janet,” marking her transition from an angelic songbird to a sex symbol.
Teyana Taylor adds her Harlem swag to the cover photo twenty years later with the help of actor turned photographer Lance Gross. In the photo, the G.O.O.D. music singer rocks denim cutoff shorts, black lacy thigh high stockings and a black garter as she recreates the iconic cover.
Proud of his new work, Gross tweeted the new image with the caption: “@teyanataylor pays homage to her idol, Janet’s most famous cover. Shot by me…”
