Disney kicks off "Mickey the True Original" campaign in celebration of Mickey's 90th anniversary with a fashion show at Disneyland featuring a Mickey-inspired collection by Opening Ceremony

Chance The Rapper, Diplo, More Sit Front Row at Opening Ceremony’s Toontown Takeover

Disneyland closed its Toonytown doors on Wednesday (March 7th) but left them open for Opening Ceremony’s S18 collection. The collection was made in collaboration with Disney, kicking off Mickey The True Original campaign.

Opening Ceremony founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim drew from their California roots in order to put together their latest collection.

Front row guests included a few fashionable heavy hitters including, rapper Chance The Rapper, DJ Diplo, Laverne Cox, Justine Skye, Chloe x Halle, Shaun Ross, Maya Rudolph and many more.

The collaboration was design in celebration of Mickey’s heritage, personality and status as a pop-culture icon. The campaign will come to life through fashion collaborations with other true original brands.

The collection, which includes men’s, women’s, and unisex pieces, puts a luxe spin on classic Disney iconography.

A selection of t-shirts, sweatpants, hoodies from the collection are now available online and in-store at all global Opening Ceremony locations. Ready-to-wear fashion pieces will release in November 2018.
