Inspired by a diverse palette of sound growing up, Demi Papazoglou is the brainchild behind Droplet, whose self-titled and self-produced debut EP is a tirade of minimalist electronica that is only hard hitting when it needs to be, and encompasses raw emotion at its highest point.
Droplet’s latest single, ‘High,’ bridges together the raw emotions experienced by taking drugs & the natural drug known as love. It was written about a bewildered & vulnerable woman facing challenges of self-acceptance, urging the need for attention from a stranger. She demands to be loved & respected through the eyes of a stranger, hoping to find freedom within herself in return.
“I always feel compelled to write from the heart. Innately, I am steered by all kinds of emotions.”
‘High’ was written & produced by Droplet. The track was recorded at Choi Productions by Ivan Khatchoyan, also from Aria Nominated Cookin on 3 Burners for one of the biggest songs of 2016 “This Girl”, and mastered by Tony Mantz at Deluxe Mastering.
“I was instinctively and subconsciously nurtured by music since the day I was born, sound was an integral part of my household. My father introduced me to many different styles of music – traditional Greek, classical, jazz, progressive rock – that although I had no direct interest in as a child, slowly made its imprint as I began to learn more and create when I was older,” says Demi on her influences for the EP.
With Droplet’s self-titled debut EP set for release in March 2017, this is something to definitely not miss out on, and will cement Droplet as an ambitious and fierce newcomer with a project that proves through hard work and dedication, simply anything is possible.
