We haven’t heard much from producer/singer/songwriter J. Drew in a since 2013, when he dropped several R&B tunes and the EP Never Coming Back; it was a controversial departure from his Gospel lineage and roots as the son of Bishop J. Drew Sheard and Grammy-Award winning gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard.
But he’s back with a new project titled The Long Way Home, 4-tracks of jazzy, swingin’ R&B. Entirely produced by Drew, the project has a unique sound. He cites producers Pharrell Williams, Rodney Jerkins, and Warryn Campbell as his influences.
"These guys show me what it means to really be the best at what you do. They give me great advice and I'm glad to have them as mentors."
