Erika Kayne, the Cleveland songstress who captured the ears of many with vocal renditions on her Youtube channel, has dropped a new mixtape of covers and originals called Nostalgia, and like the title suggests, the 12-track set is all about reminiscence.
She covers 90s R&B classics like Ginuwine’s “So Anxious,” Case’s “Happily Ever After,” an a capella version of SWV’s “Weak, even courageously taking on Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” A few of the more recent covers she tackles are Trey Songz’s “Can’t Be Friends” and Chris Brown’s “Loyal,” on which she puts her “EK” flavor on it, and on “We Made It,” Kayne goes in on the track with freestyle vocals. The final track "Have Him" is an original offeing from Kayne, which finds her giving away her cheating beau to the next woman with ease.
