Toronto’s Tory Lanez follows last year’s project Conflicts of my Soul with Chixtape 2, the sequel to his 2011 Chixtape.
In 14 tracks, Lanez unleashes his sing-songy flows over laid back tracks, some of which borrow from Ginuwine’s “Pony”, Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine,” and TLC’s “No Scrubs.” He even takes it so deep into the 90s that he uses the theme song from the classic Nickelodeon show “All That” to tell the story throughout the set between him and a woman named Jalissa.
