Following Chris Brown and Trey Songz, Chris Scholar is Virginia’s next male R&B crooner to pop. You’ve checked out the introspective “Way Back Home” and infectious groove “Nominee,” now hear Chris Scholar’s full debut project, "Language Arts."
The project is 14 tracks (no interludes) of solid R&B cuts; those of love, swag, ride-along soundtracks, and bangers. Respectively, “So Perfect” represents for the love department, Scholar crooning about his “newly-bagged” love on the dreamy-yet-banging track, and “Know About You” and “Rights and Wrongs” continue the romance. Although held throughout, Scholar’s swag factor becomes apparent on cuts like "Lock N Load," "Tom Cruise" and "Red Hot Pepper," three spicy jawns to help you turn up. Also, ride out with Chris on the baseline-heavy opener “The Coupe.”
This newcomer is taking the reins of his career by writing his own songs, dancing, and directing his own visuals.
