Following “This Is Me,” Jacob Latimore returns with the sequel in his mixtape series “This Is Me 2" in which the 17-year-old actor-singer continues to define his musical identity.
With minimal features (only Yo Gotti and Slice 9), the whole set features Jacob weaving his way into the heart and mind of a lucky girl; on “He Ain’t I," “Let Em Go,” and "Try Me," Latimore does so on energetic, hyped tracks, while “Switch It Up” switches it up with a funk, neo-soul flavor. And just in time for the holidays, Jacob enlists The Lattimore Brothers (his father and uncles, including cousin Kenny Lattimore) for an a capella rendition of “This Christmas.”
Speaking of the yuletide, Jacob will also be staring in the upcoming musical film “Black Nativity” out Nov. 27, and its accompanying soundtrack out on Nov. 5.
