If I were, Aubrey O'Day, Shannon Bex, or Aundrea Fimbres, reuniting Danity Kane would be a brilliant idea. But for the successful, talented and beautiful Dawn Richard, this decision would be something that would have to be well thought out. How would it help or hurt my career as a solo artist? It’s a complicated decision and probably the reason why we have watched the extinction of the male and female group. If you were Dawn, would you join forces with Danity Kane? Why redirect energy from yourself back to a group that for some people has ran its course on the track of reality tv music show history. Yes, they were successful, but has that chapter closed?. It seems the writing is on the wall that Dawn should keep doing her thing and leave Danity Kane. However, for the fans that just want to see them get back together ,here are a couple things to think about.
Did Dawn make the right decision in reuniting with Danity Kane?
We will have to see…
Spilt the Bill?
Show me the money!!! At the end of the day when you look at the landscape of the music industry it is all based on the bottom line. In this case, the top dollar all revolves around Dawn who has been able to build and maintain her brand. Ms. Richard led her own movement for her solo career earning a leading position on iTunes and becoming a main act for sold-out shows. With this success as an independent artist why shift momentum and go back to being one of the many faces especially when the name leaving fans’ lips is Dawn? Why “break bread” when you are the sole breadwinner. Do you want to see Danity Kane without Dawn? Is it Danity Kane without Dawn? We will have to see â¦
Finally a Signature Style
The Dawn Richard that hustled her way into Danity Kane and swagged it out on Diddy’s Dirty Money mob is not the same Ms. Richard that was unveiled as a solo artist. She has destroyed the boundaries of conventional R&B and mobilized a devoted group of #hearts. Dawn has found herself as an artist and created a way to lead her fans into her own mystic music world.
Balance…The X Factor
Danity Kane losing D. Woods has created a void that they need to fill. They don’t have that street edginess that separated them from other groups.
Chances of Finding Success Twice
Outside of TGT, who actually cares about boy/girl bands? Yes, it is kind of cool seeing those old ass dances with Justin Timberlake but at the end of the day we really don’t care. If we did care about trios and quartets, there would be a couple new SUCCESSFUL groups. We are more concerned about who will be the one to break out of the group then keeping the group together. This is not the time of great groups like En Vogue, SWV or TLC. If Danity Kane reunited in a different era, just maybe they would have a chance. Maybe then we would actually miss the ladies.
Born Raised On Reality Television
Reality television made these ladies and in many ways reality TV or the lack thereof destroyed them. MTV’s cameras were their platform and a way for people to connect with them. In a time when reality television had been nothing close to human life many questioned if artists on tube were legit.
Has Danity Kane’s rise and fall on reality television hindered their resurrection? Music now is tricky. How do they find their way back without the heavy co-sign by music mogul Diddy and a camera crew? The fans have a short attention span.
