Kansas City, Missouri: not the first place you think of when you think of R&B, but Adrian Truth plans on changing all that with his latest project, the Euphoria Bloom EP. Released on his independent label Npursuit Ent, the upcoming Midwestern-singer offers seven tracks of material that focuses on life’s pleasures.
The entire project features solid songwriting, first glimpse of this on “Sex Symbol,” where Truth spits game so poetic, it would make the woman with the biggest chip on her shoulder give up the digits. “My heart beats like a phoenix that’s rising / from the ashes, enticing / my every thought as I gaze into your glow,” he seductively croons. “Vice” gives in to temptation: “Everybody got a vice, but do it make it right?” he sings, the song fading out with a hypnotic melody. “Foolish Games” is reminiscent of a mid-90s groove that would make R&B singer Case proud, and the string/piano arrangement on “Drunken Nights” effectively conveys distressed truths that come out when loneliness and too many spirits combine resulting in the dreaded drunk dial. “It’s me again, pick up the phone, I’m home alone, patron patron,” he laments.
All songs on Euphoria Bloom were written by Adrian Truth and features production from Ra Charm, Sho-Down, and LX. Will Adrian Truth put Kansas City, MO. on the R&B map? Check it out and download!
