The big screen thriller "The Call" opened with major numbers over the weekend.
Captured by indie director Brad Anderson, "The Call" raked in $17.1 million opening weekend, placing it at no.2 on the final tally, just behind "Oz The Great and Powerful."
With Halle Berry and Morris Chesnut in leading roles, the movie also featured actor David Otunga, who is engaged to R&B singer and award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.
"Ever since I was young I had big dreams. I always wanted to get into Hollywood and really, into acting. Action movies was what I was always about," Otunga, who portrayed law enforcement officer, said of acting in a recent interview.
"The Call" had been promoted aggressively with much of the cast appearing on national programming such as "The Steve Harvey Show," "The Wendy Williams Show," "BET 106 & Park" and more.
This was also Otunga's first major film role.
