Celebs may have the accessibility when it comes to weight loss trends and techniques, but Beyonce wants you to know that her 57-pound post baby weight loss is achievable for every woman (and man).
If you were wondering how Bey whipped into shape so quickly after having daughter Blue Ivy, she reveals how she did it in the April issue of Shape Magazine…and you’d be surprised to know it’s gimmick free. She explains she has to work (like most of us) to stay fit. "I'm not a person that is naturally very thin. I am a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape,” she said, citing dancing as one form of exercise that keeps her fit.
And Bey understands that new moms simply just don’t have the time to spend working out with a new baby, work, etc., but says working it into your lifestyle is achievable. "I gained 57 pounds when I was pregnant. I didn't have a lot of time to lose the weight, because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again," Knowles says in a behind-the-scenes clip (taken down Shape Mag for copyright reasons). But a consistent diet of vegetables and lean meat, along with cardio and lunges helped keep Bey’s post-baby weight away. Her trainer Marco Borges also notes one vegan meal a day as necessary to achieve your goal weight.
But Beyonce (as an advocate for women feeling good about themselves, whatever shape, flaws, or distinguishing characteristics), lets it be known that where she isn’t necessarily what works for everyone. "Not everyone is supposed to be the same. Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you."
