Representing the United Kingdom by way of Lagos, Nigera, newcomer Tyson Noir offers his second EP Dreaming in Colour. Always having a passion for music, Tyson began to pursue it more seriously while in college at Bristol University. While working on his undergrad, he worked in musical theater and participated in musicals and cabarets, getting the chance to open for popular Nigerian artists such as Wande Coal and Ikechukwu. He sites Sam Cooke, Brandy, Aaliyah, Usher, Asa, Michael Jackson, Frank Ocean, and James Fauntleroy as influences.
In Dreaming in Colour, Tyson infuses R&B and pop in the short but sweet EP. Producers Maleek Berry, Raheem Bale, and Jonathan Omedi lend their beats to Tyson’s simple melodies. The instrumental “Dreaming in Colour” opens the project, then leads in to the radio-friendly “This House.” “Without You” emotes an emotional, smokey vibe.
With “Dreaming in Colour” clocking in at only approximately 15 minutes, Tyson introduces us to his craft in preparation for what’s to come.
