R. Kelly has been working hard to make his “Single Ladies Tour” a success.
Speaking out about the trek just before the first date this week, Kelly is looking forward to giving fans their money’s worth.
“Just basically shocking people. I like to give people more than their money’s worth,” Kelly tells Time. “The production and the gimmicks. I don’t want to just go out and do song to song to song. I like to create things before the song actually kicks in, little things you do to excite the crowd.”
Working on the trek for “four or five months,” Kelly is feeling “real good” about the tour and his health, although he says no one can keep him off stage.
“I would say it’s 95%, honestly,” Kelly tells Time of the state of his throat. “But I feel real good. Nobody can tell me not to get on that stage.”
As previously reported, the “Single Ladies Tour” kicks off this week with dates in Atlanta, Miami and Memphis.
