Earlier this year, Jonathas made musical mentors CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera spin around in their chairs on the popular singing competition show ‘The Voice’ with his rendition of Usher’s “You Got It Bad.” Even though he didn’t win the second season, he’s released his first project to the world before the actual winner!
“Numb” is the title, though there’s plenty of “feeling” on the 6-track EP as he sexily croons to quiet storm tracks, surely the soundtrack to a night of sex-capades.
Born in Brazil, but raised in Austin, TX since age 4, Jonathas chose to go the R&B route despite industry suggestions that he lean towards pop. He’s influenced by Usher, Chris Brow, J. Holiday, and Ne-Yo, who “was that guy to help me do that when it came to the songwriting, to the concepts, just molding me into that artist.”
