Black Girls Rock is an non-profit organization designed to empower girls and women of color through mentorship. It’s that time of year for BET’s annual awards show of the same name to highlight women of color in a positive light.
Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, those to be honored are Alicia Keys for the Rock Star Award, actress Kerry Washington for the Star Power Award, and Dionne Warwick for the Living Legend Award.
Performers set to grace the stage are Ciara (which will be her first television performance in a long time), Brandy, Keyshia Cole, and India Arie.
“Black Girls Rock” will air on November 4, 2012 @ 8:00 pm/ET on BET.
