Remember baby Blue Ivy made her record debut on new father Jay-Z’s song “Glory?” Well, get ready for maybe another celebrity baby to hit the mic. Twenty-two-month-old Egypt, son of Alicia Keys, may have a small part on her upcoming “Girl on Fire” album.
“He might need a cameo, you know what I mean? He might,” Keys told Entertainment Weekly of her son with Swizz Beatz. “He may need to say a couple words. There’s one song in particular called ‘When It’s All Over’ that he may need a little feature on. So we’ll see.”
When asked if he and Blue Ivy would collaborate on a new album, the Grammy-winning philanthropist laughed and said “I think that they’re going to have a big future!”
She says a lot of the album’s inspiration comes from her new motherhood status, and plans to bring the toddler along the next time she tours. “I’m actually really excited about it because he’s at the perfect age to come with me,” she shared. “He’s just at that great, beautiful age where he’s exploring so much and he’s learning so much. He’s taking everything in. I feel that 100% it’s going to make me look at the world in different eyes.”
Alicia will debut new the material during her performance at the 2012 VMA’s on Sept 6th, as well as at the iTunes Festival in London on September 8th. “Girl on Fire” will make it on time for the holiday season on November 27th.
