Ever since Rihanna’s Next Chapter interview with Oprah, reactions have been mixed; some applaud her honesty, and some are disappointed with her confession that she still loves Chris Brown. One critic of the latter is Joan Rivers. The comedian put her in two cents in true Joan Rivers style on how she felt about the interview. Verbal jabs flew, and as always, Twitter became the boxing ring.
It all started when Rivers tweeted, “Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown,” Rivers tweeted. “Idiot! Now it’s MY turn to slap her.”
Rihanna, no stranger to speaking her mind on Twitter, replied with a verbal uppercut by tweeting, “@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you’re old huh?” but later the message was deleted. She soon after posted, “Slap on some diapers.”
After that crushing blow with words, Joan tried to squash the verbal war, offering some concern. “Honey, @Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he’ll hit you again,” she tweeted. “Read the statistics.” She even invited her as a guest on her show; “PS â Love to have you on Fashion Police!”
The Barbadian superstar hasn’t (yet) replied.
