Conrad Murray, the doctor charged with negligently killing the King of Pop Michael Jackson, wants to be sent to prison, TMZ reports. The former doctor is serving his four-year sentence in the L.A. County Jail, but Murray’s lawyer Valerie Wass tells the celeb news site that her client wants to be in prison because he feels he will receive better treatment.
Due to the less-than-pleasant conditions, Murray’s health is dwindling; he’s been suffering from headaches, which he says he’s never used to get, and worries it may be a brain tumor. Other alleged ailments include his hair, skin, and nails that are becoming decrepit. Murray asked to get medical attention, but has yet to receive it.
“I may not make it out of here alive,” TMZ reports that Murray told his lawyer. “This is a very dangerous place. I’m in here dying. The system is intent on killing me.”
The L.A. County Sherriff’s Department denied commenting.
