Chris Brown may have had no choice but to go the legal route after a recent nightclub melee with rapper Drake in New York City. Following the incident, the Grammy winner’s rep released the statement, “Brown, his girlfriend Karrueche Tran and other friends sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with New York authorities who are pursuing this incident further.”
Now, according to TMZ, Brown gave NYPD investigators his statement surrounding the brawl, which left his bodyguard, Big Pat, seriously injured. The authorities also told the site that Brown’s high profile lawyer Mark Geragos has delivered unspecified “physical evidence” that allegedly implicates Drake in the fight.
Drake, who released a statement via his rep following the incident, maintains his innocence in the ordeal. “Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began,” says his rep. “[Drake] did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”
On the contrary, Geragos says he has evidence that Drake and rapper Meek Mill, who was hanging with the Canadian MC, were the instigators in the brawl.
Currently Brown is considered a “witness and a victim,” and neither him or Drake are considered suspects at the moment, according to Police.
