Beyonce’s “I Am…” tour is on track to become one of 2009s top grossing tours. According to Billboard’s Boxscore, Beyonce’s “I Am…” tour has pulled in over $53.5 million to date ! Making stops, nearly worldwide, the tour launched in March and has continued almost non-stop since then. Including a four night stint at the Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore, Beyonce’s “I Am…” tour featured Beyonce’s all-female band and peformances of hits including “Single Ladies,” “Crazy In Love,” “Diva” and “Ego”. A DVD, slated for release in the future, was compiled during the “Sweet Dreams” singer’s four night stint at Encore. In related news, Beyonce received Billboard’s Woman of the Year award in New York City today. The award, which celebrates excellence and achievement was awarded during Billboard’s Women in Music brunch. “Beyoncé is a multiplatinum artist and a multitalented woman who clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement that the Billboard Woman of the Year Award was created to honor,” says Billboard editorial director Bill Werde. “She has not only influenced pop culture with her hit songs and her signature dance moves, but has inspired women everywhere with her unique style, business savvy and dedication to charitable causes.”
