Mya and her partner Dmitry Chaplin kicked off a new season of Dancing With The Stars with near perfect scores. Landing a mix of praise and concern on their first number, the Viennese Waltz, Mya and Dmitry ended up with a score of 21. “Way to set the bar tonight. Mya that was gorgeous,” DWTS judge Carrie Ann commented before a battle of words erupted between the three judges. Debating the quality of the duos dance, ‘Dancing’ judge Len chimed in stating “This was not a Viennese Waltz, it was a theatrical hodgepodge” followed by Bruno, who yelled “the girl was magnificent”. As previously reported, Mya joins Macy Gray, Melissa Joan Hart and Aaron Carter on this season of Dancing With The Stars. Speaking of the season, just before it kicked off Tuesday, Mya said “My main goal is to have fun and not focus too much on winning and being disappointed if I don’t”. Later in the night, Mya performed during a second round dubbed the cha cha relay which resulted in a score of 10 (total overall 31). Watch Mya’s performance below:
