As Dawn Richard prepares to takeoff into solo stardom, the multi-faceted entertainer stopped by S.O.B’s in NYC to premiere some new material from her full-length solo project Goldenheart, dropping Jan. 15th. The singer-songwriter performed tunes from her popular EP “Armor On,” as well as “86,” Goldenheart’s first single. She also debuted two new songs “In Your Eyes” and “Gleaux.” Free from the confines of a major label, Richard is independently promoting the project and enjoying the benefits, as she’s recently signed a worldwide distribution deal for the album to be in stores across the globe.
Dawn recently sat down for a chat with Singersroom to discuss many things, including Goldenheart. “We have a message, it’s plain and simple: you have to fight for your passion, and you have to fight for your love… when you fighting in a battle, it’s ok to fight as long as you know that you’re the survivor you can win the battle…for me, it was my journey in the industry,” Richard explained to Singersroom.
