Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta cast member Karlie Redd has finally released her debut single “Ferrari Karlie.” Just a sample of some of the music that Karlie is currently recording, the song is a part of a full-length project that will be released under AMS Records. This will be the first project that the reality star has ever put out.
“Ferrari Karlie” showcases a side of Karlie Redd that we almost never get to see; Karlie Redd the rapper. More specifically, Karlie is going completely savage with this record and letting the versus do all the talking for her. With bars and a dope beat, Karlie is proving that she just might deserve a spot in Hip-Hop. For years, she’s only been viewed as the messy, serial dating, drama causing reality show veteran who just so happens to be a rapper.
Fans have watched as somehow gets caught up in almost every type of drama imaginable; some of which has nothing to do with her. However, “Ferrari Karlie” suggests that maybe it’s time to stop watching and start listening to her.
While Love & Hip Hop has been credited for launching the careers of K. Michelle and Cardi B, it’s also notorious for reducing potential artists into reality stars and stalling their music careers. As a day one cast member of LHHATL, Karlie came on the scene as the Trinidadian vixen from New York. Over the years, her relationships and rivalries have overshadowed her talent, but now we get to see exactly why Benzino, Yung Joc, Jeremiah, Lyfe Jennings, and Sean Garrett thought she was talented before getting involved with her.
In recent years, Love & Hip Hop has also been responsible for reviving the careers of notable artists like Omarion, Keyshia Cole, Remy Ma. Restoring the show’s credibility and bringing in larger audiences to view actual successful artists instead of desperate wannabes. Obviously, Karlie has decided that she’s not gonna let her music career fall to the wasteside like some of the other franchise members.
Despite all of the negativity, Karlie has always displayed that she has the hustle and grind to be successful at whatever she puts her mind to. During the run of the show, she was able to open a boutique and star in Chris Rock’s Top Five. Neither brough her any record sales or awards, Karlie was able to add entrepreneur to her resume and continue her pursuit of acting roles. Many may not remember, but back in the day, she held a small role in the Halle Berry movie B*A*P*S.
There’s always been something unique about Karlie Redd. An unknown it factor that couldn’t be explained. Fortunately, as time goes on the rapper, actress, entrepreneur, and reality star is actively providing more reasons to pay attention to her besides the latest episode of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
