We all know how much Drake loves the ladies. He doesn’t discriminate against a woman’s title or looks. He loves them all.
In his new release, “Nice For What,” the single he hinted at dropping during his quick appearance at a recent Majid Jordan show in Toronto, Drake provides a summer anthem for women everywhere.
The Murda Beatz-production sample’s the legendary Lauryn Hill’s “Ex-Factor,” off her iconic 1998 album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It later develops into an upbeat celebratory track sampling a bit of New Orleans bounce music and featuring commentary from bounce queen Big Freedia. “I wanna know who mothaf*ckin’ up here representin’ tonight.”
Along with the single’s release, Drake tapped female-director Karen Evans once again (director of “God’s Plan”) to craft the star-studded visual.
In the clip, a number of influential women are seen standing confidently in their elements. The diversity amongst the clip’s casting is phenomenal. Drake and Karena highlight the essence of Olivia Wilde, Issa Rae, Misty Copeland, Tiffany Haddish, Yara Shahidi, Zoe Saldana, Syd, Rashida Jones, Jourdan Dunn, Tracee Ellis Ross, Elizabeth and Victoria Lejonhjarta, Letitia Wright, Bria Vinaite, Michelle Rodriguez and Emma Roberts.
“You gotta be nice for what to these n*ggas,” he lays out the hook.
The 6 God has shared his forthcoming Scary Hours project. The two-track project includes No. 1 single “God’s Plan.”
Keeping himself busy, Drake is also featured on Migos’ “Walk It Talk It,” N.E.R.D.’s “Lemonade Remix” featuring Rihanna, and Trouble’s “Bring It Back” with Mike WiLL Made-It.
