Melbourne based producer Wayfarer// teams up with NOVAA on “Why’d You Let Me Out”, the second single off his upcoming Garden State EP, due out later this year.
The pop-leaning track is resplendent with explosive, glittery production, and made all the more special by the enchanting and evocative vocal strains lent to it Novaa.
“Lately I’ve been drawing a lot of influence from the British future soul scene, acts like Jai and Anup Paul and Nao,” states Wayfarer//. “My little studio has been getting turned into a sauna by the Australian summer – a far cry from the cold climates I’ve been drawing influence from – but I tried to take that British feel and combine it with what was around me. I think it came through, Melbourne has a real vibe in summer and it just gave the record some extra bounce”.
He continued: “Funnily enough, we crossed back to that freezing Northern Hemisphere for a feature from Germany-based artist Novaa whose solo stuff blew me away. She hit the feel I was looking for straight away and we just ran with it from there.”
