The child of legendary singer Sade has apparently come out as a transgender man.
In a post on his Instagram account, Mickailia ‘Ila’ Adu wrote, “Today is the first day of the rest of my life.” The post text was followed by the sun and needle emoji, a possible inclination to testosterone injections, as well as the hashtags #selfmademan #transman #yaaassss and #proud.
Before his transition, the 20-year-old openly identified as a lesbian.
Sade, who has been infamously private about her personal life, has not yet commented on Ila’s transition.
