There’s been rumors for YEARS now that Janet Jackson had a daughter named Renee from her first marriage to troubled singer James DeBarge. The marriage only lasted three months when she was 18-years-old and was eventually annulled.
That rumor is being brought up again now that reports surfaced last week that Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are expecting a child, but according to DeBarge, this “mystery daughter” could be Janet’s actual first born!
According to Radar Online, DeBarge was allegedly contacted by a woman who claims she is his and Janet’s daughter after her being told by her adoptive mother, who’s on her deathbed.
“She spoke to me by email,” he said. “The first time was two years ago. I have not been able to directly see her face-to-face.” DeBarge claims that through the correspondence, he learned out Jackson had allegedly hid her pregnancy and put their daughter up for adoption after their split.
“One of her adoptive parents died,” he said. “Her adoptive mother and on her death bed said she told her. She confirmed it on the deathbed,” he said, continuing, “She was angry because another child was trying to come forward and say that she was our child. So she did out of anger.” That “other” child he speaks of if of a then-18-year-old young woman who reportedly reached out to him in 2005. Janet publicly denied the allegations.
“She described as much as she could tell me because she was very fearful at the time,” he continued. “She was very angry about people running with this story about this [other child] being my baby. She got very angry. She’s like, ‘Papa I want to help you out.’ She had so much of personality and she was so accurate with everything she was saying, it was only things that I and Janet know. No one else but god, me and Janet.”
They have yet to take a paternity test, and DeBarge admits he’s afraid.
