Scarface – God ft. John Legend

Veteran emcee Scarface is prepping his comeback album, Deeply Rooted, and here’s one of the opus’ tracks titled "God." The always-spiritually-minded rapper enlists John Legend (who seems to be a perfect fit) for the rapturous, thought-provoking song.

With all the unrest happening in the country and around the world, the rapper questions God’s presence and the role of organized religion in it all: “If I had to play God for a day / I would open up the gates, let the world see my face,” he says on the first verse. Legend offers up his majestic vocals to top it off: “Who listens when we pray?” he sings on the chorus.

Deeply Rooted will drop on September 4th.
