Earlier this week, Big Sean and Ariana Grande released a joint statement via their reps confirming their break-up: "They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends," states the release. "We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time."
Grande, 21, and Sean, 27, had been dating since August 2014, and according to reports, the two ended their relationship weeks prior to the announcement, citing "scheduling conflict."
Well, now that the public relations dust is lightening, more reports are emerging around why the couple allegedly went to splitsville.
A source close to the couple told TMZ Big Sean broke off the relationship because Ariana was "immature."
Sources say the downfall of their relationship started in February, when he made the most important appearance of his career at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. Everyone showed — Kanye, Bieber, JLo, Chris Brown, Jay Z, A$AP Rocky, Tyga, Kylie and Kendall — everyone EXCEPT ARIANA. We're told she needed to get ready for the Grammy's the next day, which he found extremely selfish.
Sean allegedly took "10 times more" more trips to see Ariana around the world, and she demanded that he blow tens of thousands of dollars to take a private jet.
Sean, who grew up poor, felt she was a spendthrift … a sign of immaturity.
The couple severed any chance of rekindling after a show in L.A., which saw Sean's friend Justin Bieber grabbing Ariana from behind intimately. Sean believes it was all calculated — NOT by Bieber but Ariana — to hurt him.
