August Alsina has locked down the #2 debut on the Billboard 200 only second to the Frozen soundtrack (which is pretty damn good.) His debut album Testimony, along with his four mixtapes and EP Downtown: Life Under The Gun, is just a little proof that despite his young age, he has been putting in the work. His music, which is a little harder then the R&B music that has been coming out, is a breath of fresh air for those that want something with some grit to it.
His hit single "I Love This Sh*t," featuring Trinidad James, blew up and is still helping him get the attention of the airwaves, television and internet. Now, you can catch August everywhere, but he has come along way from the mixtapes. His music continues to be dynamic, but true to who he is.
