Brooklyn, Brooklyn, Brooklyn

Brooklyn, Brooklyn, Brooklyn

Brooklyn has been going through a wonderful transformation for the last decade. It went from being the gritty no mans land where you were more likely to get robbed then get a greeting of good morning. Now you can watch Brooklynites comfortable riding bikes and going to their yoga classes. Things have changed for the home of Biggie and Jay. MTV did an amazing job of highlight some of the dopest locations of Brooklyn. They highlighted the beautiful brownstones, they used the bridges as a backdrop and also rocked out at the new Barclay Center.

You missed out on one of the biggest events of 2013 if you didn’t watch the VMA’s that year. It was a night filled with unforgettable performances by some of the top artists in the music industry and controversial moments that had everyone talking for weeks.

From Justin Timberlake’s epic medley to Miley Cyrus’ twerking performance, there were plenty of reasons you should have tuned in. Not to mention, the show was hosted by comedian Kevin Hart who brought his signature humor and energy to the stage.

If you’re regretting not watching this iconic event, keep reading as we give you five reasons why you should have watched the 2013 VMA’s.

Unforgettable Performances by Top Artists

You won’t regret tuning in to catch the unforgettable performances by top artists at the VMA’s! This year’s lineup did not disappoint.

From Justin Bieber’s emotional rendition of ‘Stay’ to Olivia Rodrigo’s energetic performance of ‘Good 4 U,’ there was something for everyone. The iconic Foo Fighters also rocked out with a medley of their hits, leaving fans both old and new satisfied.

But it wasn’t just about the big names – up-and-coming artists also made an impact on the stage. Lil Nas X lit up the night with his futuristic performance of ‘Industry Baby,’ complete with dancers in pink jumpsuits and a giant, inflatable prison cell. And Normani showed off her incredible dancing skills during her sultry performance of ‘Wild Side.’ These fresh faces brought a new energy to the show that kept viewers captivated.

The VMA’s have always been known for their high-energy performances, and this year was no exception. Doja Cat wowed audiences with her acrobatic moves during her performance of ‘Been Like This’ and ‘You Right.’ And Machine Gun Kelly brought a punk rock vibe to the stage with his intense performance of ‘Papercuts.’

These memorable moments are what make watching award shows live so special – you never know what unexpected surprises await!

Controversial and Memorable Moments

Now, if you’re looking for some juicy pop culture gossip, let’s talk about the controversial and memorable moments from this year’s ceremony.

One of the most talked-about incidents was when rapper Lil Nas X kissed one of his male backup dancers during his performance. This sparked a lot of discussion on social media, both positive and negative. Some praised him for being true to himself and pushing boundaries in the music industry, while others criticized him for being too explicit in front of a young audience.

Another moment that caused quite a stir was when Conor McGregor got into a physical altercation with Machine Gun Kelly on the red carpet. The reason for the fight is still unclear, but it quickly went viral online. Many fans were shocked to see such an unexpected outburst at an awards show, especially between two celebrities who are not usually associated with each other.

There was also controversy surrounding Madonna’s tribute to late singer Aretha Franklin. The Queen of Pop shared a personal story about how she sang ‘Natural Woman’at an audition early in her career, before launching into her own rendition of Franklin’s hit song ‘Respect.’ Many viewers felt that Madonna made the tribute all about herself instead of honoring Franklin’s legacy appropriately. This led to widespread criticism on social media and even sparked a feud between Madonna and one of Franklin’s family members.

Overall, this year’s VMA ceremony had its fair share of memorable moments – some good and some bad – that will likely be talked about for weeks to come. Whether you watched it live or caught up on highlights afterwards, there’s no denying that these controversial incidents added even more excitement to an already star-studded event.

Conclusion

So, now that the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards are over, did you regret not watching them? Here are five reasons why you should have tuned in.

Firstly, the performances by top artists were unforgettable. From Lady Gaga’s opening act to Justin Timberlake’s medley of hits, each artist brought their A-game and left us wanting more.

Secondly, there were controversial and memorable moments such as Miley Cyrus’ twerking performance and Kanye West’s ‘I’m a God’ declaration during his performance of ‘Blood on the Leaves.’

Overall, it was an entertaining night that showcased some of the biggest names in music today.

So next time the VMA’s roll around, make sure you don’t miss out!
