Kendrick Lamar: King of 2013’s BET Hip Hip Awards Nominations (Full List)

The past year was a good year for Kendrick Lamar: he solidified himself as a new artist, he is credited for waking up the sleeping lyricism in mainstream hip hop, and crowned himself king of New York in doing so. That last one is subjective, but one thing for certain is this: he’s the king of BET’s Hip Hop Awards nominations!

The LA emcee is nominated for a staggering 14 noms, and there are only 18 categories! His noms include Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year, and Album of the Year, as well as Best Live Performer, Best Track Of The Year for “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe,” and Hustler of the Year Award.

“For the most part, BET always acknowledges my talent and I always hold that as an honor, so I’m blessed,” Lamar said after the announcement was made. Drake and J. Cole follow behind with 13 noms and 10 noms respectively.

Tune into BET on October 15 at 8PM EST to watch Snoop Lion host The BET Awards, and check out the full nominees list below:
