The talented Jade Alston brings us a follow up to her debut EP, Single on a Saturday Night with Sunday Morning: Single on A Saturday Night Pt. 2.”
The 10-track EP deals a little with heartbreak and moving on but mostly focuses its attention on love and attraction with records that pull from 90s R&B, soul, funk, and even a little bit of reggae. Alston provides a range of powerful ballads and infectious upbeat tunes on the EP, making it easy and enjoyable to listen to the album in its entirety; no skipping necessary.
Standout tracks include the sensuous lead single “If I was your girl,” which samples 90s R&B group Brownstone’s “If you love me,” uptempo songs, “New Shoes,” “Hallucination,” the reggae-infused “Guessing Games” and slow jam “Pioneer.”
The EP is now available.
