After much anticipation, the Real Husbands of Hollywood has settled into its home on BET. The pilot episode aired Tuesday, Jan 15th with 6.5 million viewers. Since numbers don’t lie we thought we’d take a step back and figure out what it is that everyone seems to love so much about these Hollywood husbands.
The Real Husbands of Hollywood centers around a group of celebrity friends who hang out together, more often than not when their famous wives are not around. Kevin Hart stars alongside Nick Cannon, Duane Martin, JB Smoove, Robin Thicke and Boris Kodjoe in the show that is a spoof on celebrity culture and the "Housewives" franchise.
Check out why we love these sexy comedians, actors and musicians….
Robin brings diversity to the show in the most obvious way, but he also allows us to see a different side of his personality. It should definitely help with record sales in the future (not that he needs any help). Shout out to Paula Patton for lending him to us once a week.
Because where has he been? Really!
Anyone who’s followed the show knows how hilarious the initial spoofs that aired during the BET awards were. They were a huge motivating factor to tune in and see if the show would live up to its hype.
Even if you don’t find the show’s grade of humor riveting, it’s still fun to live tweet and see what other people are saying. #youknowyoudoittoo
Tuesdays need love too
No more surfing for shows during that awkward 10 o’clock hour.
Saves us money
We no longer have to buy one of Kevin Hart’s DVD’s to get a dose of comedy. We just have to turn on the TV.
With people like Melanie Fiona, Common, and Russell Simmons dropping by, it’s worth watching just to be surprised.
It truly seems like each individual was handpicked with the audience in mind. They all add their own flare and seem to get along well so it feels like you’re just getting to sneak a peek into their world.
Kevin Hart acknowledged ahead of time that the “drama” in the show would be fake. He’s basically saying “we’re not going to take ourselves too seriously, so you shouldn’t either.” This frees up viewers from trying to critique the show and just enjoy it for what it isâ¦funny!
The wives need a break
Clearly the Real Housewives of Everywhere are entertaining but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with throwing a little male perspective into the mix. It’s nice to see that the guys have a story to tell too, even if it is a fake one.
