Recent Grammy Award nominee Tyrese Gibson has been cast to appear in the upcoming big screen (and musical) adaptation of "Black Nativity."
Joining a cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson and Angela Bassett, Tyrese broke the news recently, calling this "one of the biggest roles and moments in my career."
Due to begin production this month, "Black Nativity" follows the story of Langston, a teenage boy from Baltimore, who is sent to Harlem to spend Christmas with grandparents he has never met. Through his grandfather's Christmas Eve sermon, he learns the importance of faith and family.
Langston Hughes wrote the original "Black Nativity." According to Black Film, Kasi Lemmons is directing this project, which will be distributed through Fox.
