Kim Zolciak

One of the more successful crossover music career efforts comes from Housewives of Atlanta blonde Kim Zolciak, who, with Kandi Burruss’ Grammy-winning songwriting skills, had an iTunes chart-topper with “Tardy for the Party.” The dance tune is catchy, so it was destined to be a success.

Reality TV stars have captivated audiences for years, and now some of them are attempting to launch singing careers. From American Idol alums to former contestants on The Voice, these reality TV stars have gone from the small screen to the recording studio. So which 10 reality TV stars have tried their luck at a music career? Let’s take a look!

The first star in our countdown is Ruben Studdard. You may remember him as the winner of the second season of American Idol back in 2003. He released his debut album Soulful shortly after winning the show, and it went double platinum! After that, he released four more albums with gospel and R&B influences.

Next up is Katharine McPhee. She was one of the final five contestants on season five of American Idol, although she didn’t win she still had an impressive run. Since then she has released three studio albums – each full of catchy pop tunes fans love her for. As well as releasing her own solo material, McPhee also collaborated with fellow former American Idol contestant Jason Castro on “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”.

Popular Musicians Who Started On Reality Tv

Reality TV stars have long been viewed as a source of entertainment, but some have tried to leverage their time on the small screen into a singing career. Over the years, there’ve been plenty of musicians who began their careers on reality TV shows—some more successful than others. Here are just a few examples…

The first is Carrie Underwood, an American Idol winner who’s become one of country music’s biggest names. Her single “Inside Your Heaven” was released at the same time she won her season and became Billboard’s Hot 100 number one for multiple weeks in 2005. She has since gone on to sell over 65 million records worldwide and win seven Grammy awards throughout her career.

Another example is Nick Lachey, former star of MTV’s Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica with his then-wife Jessica Simpson. He went on to release four solo albums after his stint on reality TV, which featured several singles that made it onto the US Top 40 charts including “What’s Left Of Me” and “I Can’t Hate You Anymore”. His most recent album What’s Left of Me came out in 2020.

Finally, Kelly Clarkson rose to fame after winning the very first season of American Idol back in 2002; since then she has sold over 25 million albums worldwide and holds three Grammy awards under her belt too! With hits like “Since U Been Gone” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” topping the charts, Kelly Clarkson continues to be one of pop music’s leading figures today.

It’s clear that reality TV stars can make it big if they put their minds to it – something these popular musicians prove!

Challenges Faced By Reality Tv Stars In The Music Industry

While many reality TV stars have been successful in launching music careers, there are unique challenges they must overcome. Often times these singers face more scrutiny and criticism than those who come from a traditional musical background due to their time on the small screen. Additionally, competition for record deals can be steep as labels may not take them seriously or see potential long-term success with an artist that has emerged from reality television.

Moreover, celebrities coming from a reality TV platform find it difficult to stay relevant musically. Because of their newfound fame and infamy, some artists struggle to maintain public interest after the show ends. As such, many former stars don’t get the chance to promote themselves properly and thus remain unknown outside of their initial fanbase.

Despite these obstacles, several notable musicians have persevered and made a career out of singing despite being known originally for appearing on a reality show. With hard work and dedication, any aspiring singer can make it big regardless of where they start!

Conclusion

In conclusion, reality TV has given many stars the platform to catapult themselves into superstardom. Although it can be difficult for these personalities to make a successful transition from television to music, there have been some who have successfully accomplished this feat. From Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson to Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks, there are numerous examples of singers who got their start on reality shows before launching their singing careers. It is clear that with hard work and determination, dreams can become reality – even if one’s journey begins in front of the cameras.

Reality TV celebrities should not underestimate the challenges they face when attempting to launch a career in music; however, they should also take heart knowing that others have done it before them and succeeded. With dedication and perseverance, anything is possible – after all, as long as you believe in yourself, nothing is out of reach!
