Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson appeared on BET’s “106 & Park” to discuss the anticipated movie “Django Unchained” Monday.
In video below, all three discuss the importance of this particular film, the history behind it and some of the struggles they went though while filming in Louisiana.
“We struggled. Jamie and I would be up at four in the morning texting each other like “I can’t sleep,” thinking about the scene we had to do the next day, the next week or the next month,” says Kerry Washington.
Revealing a disturbing fact, Jamie Foxx says there are people who don’t know about plantations and the history of slavery.
“A lot of people didn’t even know that we had plantations,” Foxx says of interacting with some Louisiana residents. “With movies about slavery, it’s not a lot that comes through so I hope that people go and check this film out and grab some history about what slavery was about.”

Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington have been making waves in Hollywood over the last few years, and now they’ve teamed up to discuss the importance of ‘Django Unchained’ on ‘106 & Park’. Their appearance together has fans buzzing with excitement as it marks a rare public joint venture for the two stars. In this article we explore how Foxx and Washington used their platform to draw attention to an important social issue: racism.

The film Django is set in 1858 during the pre-Civil War era of America, when slavery was still legal in some parts of the country. It follows Django (Foxx), a freed slave who goes on a quest to save his wife from Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). During their talk show appearance, Foxx and Washington discussed why the movie’s relevance extends beyond its entertainment value – addressing issues that are still relevant today such as racial injustice and oppression.

In addition, both actors expressed their admiration for director Quentin Tarantino’s artistic vision. They praised him for creating an entertaining yet thought provoking story that educates viewers about a difficult period in American history. With Foxx and Washington bringing awareness to these topics, it’s clear that there’s something more than just entertainment beneath the surface of Django Unchained.

Cast’s Appearances On ‘106 & Park’

Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington recently made an appearance on BET’s popular show ‘106 & Park’ to discuss the importance of Quentin Tarantino’s 2012 film, Django Unchained. The two stars talked about how they felt privileged to be a part of what has become an iconic movie in both Hollywood and Black history.

Foxx shared that he was proud to have been able to take part in such a powerful story telling experience with his co-star, Washington. He also encouraged young people watching at home to seek out stories like this one that highlight African American culture.

Washington praised her time on set, saying that she loved being able to work alongside some of the best actors around today while bringing something meaningful to life for audiences everywhere. She firmly believes that everyone should watch the film in order to better understand its themes and messages about freedom and justice.

Discussion Of ‘Django Unchained’ Impact

The discussion of Django Unchained didn’t end there – Foxx and Washington also discussed the film’s impact on viewers. They both agreed that it was an important piece of art which helped to change perceptions about race, justice, and freedom in America.

Foxx stated that he wanted people to be inspired by what they saw on screen, noting how the movie is a powerful reminder of our nation’s history and its ongoing struggle for equality. He further noted that even though many years have passed since slavery ended, racism still exists in our society today. For this reason, Tarantino’s film serves as a reminder to never forget where we come from.

Washington added that she believed the film had made a lasting impression on audiences worldwide because it brought together different worlds through story-telling. It showed how humanity can overcome all kinds of division when given the chance to do so – something which resonates with everyone regardless of their background or beliefs. By providing insight into these issues and celebrating diversity, Djano Unchained has become an iconic part of modern day cinema.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington’s appearance on ‘106 & Park’ was an important event in the promotion of Django Unchained. They discussed how it was a groundbreaking film which pushed boundaries and explored daring themes such as slavery. The two stars were passionate about the message of the movie, stressing that everyone should go out and see it to learn more about its historical context.

Overall, their presence on the show had a positive impact not only for promoting Django Unchained but also for furthering conversations around issues related to race and racism. By having these discussions in public forums like television shows, people are able to start thinking critically about history and inequality in society today.

Foxx and Washington have done a great service by raising awareness about this powerful film; hopefully, more people will be encouraged to watch Django Unchained and gain greater insight into our past. With this knowledge, we can work together towards creating a brighter future for all.
