Jamie Foxx Talks Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’

Jamie Foxx marvels at fellow recording artists like Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder and Kanye West because music was his first love.
In a preview for an upcoming airing of “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” Foxx admits that he wanted to be a musician above anything else, but just happened to be funny.
“If I’m in the studio, I’m completely on music. I try to go to that place and that’s the toughest thing for me to do. When I’m with other musicians, sometimes I go back to, almost like, childhood, because that’s what I always wanted to be,” says Foxx. “I really wanted to just be a musician. I didn’t want to be anything else, but I was funny and all that. When I see Alicia Keys or Swizz Beatz or Kanye (West) or Jay Z or Stevie Wonder I just marvel. What I have to do is constantly remind myself not to be funny because that’s my natural. [I’m] naturally funny.”
