Jennifer Hudson is no stranger to movies. Her credits include “Dreamgirls,” “The Secret Life of Bees,” “Winnie” and “Sex and the City.” Even with all of those films and associated accolades, like an Oscar, the “I Remember Me” singer says the primary goal is to find a film that is unique, something that she can feel passionate about.
“It has to be something I feel connected to or have a passion to do,” Hudson shared in a recent interview. “I don’t believe in doing things just to do them. It has to make sense for me to do it. You have to be passionate about it.”
That said, Jennifer Hudson will soon begin work on her next project, a musical role in “Black Nativity,” an on screen adaptation of Langston Hughes’ gospel musical of the same name.
“It’s a musical and has kind of a Christmas feel to it. All of those things intrigued me and made me want to be a part of it,” Hudson shared with the Chicago Tribune.
Filming begins in January for “Black Nativity,” where Hudson will work alongside Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett.
