According to Deadline.com, Queen Latifah will channel her personality and mogul status into being the host of her own talk show. “The Queen Latifah Show” has been picked up by CBS to air on 16 of their stations in fall of 2013. This is the queen’s second attempt at talk show hosting. A show using the same name ran for two seasons from 1999 to 2001.
The show is to be executive-produced by Will and Jada Smith, and feature celebrity interviews, musical performances, comedy, human interest stories, and pop culture chats, which is absent in CBS’ current daytime lineup.
The network says they hope to add a level of “cool” to their programming. With that combination of Queen Latifah as the on-air personality, the backing of Will and Jada, and the show’s content, they should accomplish that, along with skyrocketing ratings!
