Keep A Child Alive, the organization associated with Grammy winner Alicia Keys, has postponed its annual “Black Ball” due to Hurricane/Super Storm “Sandy.”
Issuing a statement Tuesday, the organization will be rescheduling the event, which was to take place Thursday, November 1 in New York City.
“Due to Hurricane Sandy, Keep a Child Alive has decided to postpone the 9th Annual Black Ball which was originally scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 1st. A new date for the Black Ball will be announced in the coming weeks. In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are with all our fellow New Yorkers and everyone affected by this devastating storm,” reports Keep A Child Alive.
As previously reported, this year’s event was to honor Oprah Winfrey and others for humanitarian their efforts. Beyonce was among those confirmed to perform.

Hurricane Sandy has caused disruption and destruction across the Eastern Seaboard. It’s also influenced one of pop music’s biggest events: ‘Black Ball’ feat. Alicia Keys, Beyonce – which was postponed due to the storm. This concert was highly anticipated by fans all over the world who were looking forward to seeing two of today’s most popular singers on stage together. Read on to find out more about this star-studded event, that had originally been scheduled for November 15th 2012 in New York City.

The ‘Black Ball’ was an exclusive show organized by Keep a Child Alive (KCA), a charity founded in 2003 by Alicia Keys and Leigh Blake with the goal of providing life-saving medicine to families affected by AIDS and HIV in Africa and India. As part of their efforts to raise funds, they planned regular celebrity filled concerts, where key performers have included Jay Z, The Black Eyed Peas, John Legend and Justin Timberlake among others; making it one of the hottest tickets in town!

This year KCA decided to make ‘Black Ball’ even bigger than usual – enlisting both Alicia Keys and Beyoncé as headliners for what promised to be an unforgettable night at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Unfortunately Hurricane Sandy meant that plans had to change, leaving many disappointed fans wondering if they would ever get the chance to see these two powerhouses perform together…

Overview Of Event

The black ball event was an exciting celebration featuring music superstars Alicia Keys and Beyoncé. It was set to take place in New York City, but due to Hurricane Sandy it had to be postponed. The storm caused significant damage throughout the region, making it impossible for the event to go ahead as planned.

The cancellation of the black ball was a disappointment to many people who were looking forward to seeing two incredible performers on stage together. Fans from all over the world made plans to travel to New York City for the show, only to find out that they would have to wait until further notice.

Organizers are currently working on rescheduling the event at a later date when conditions allow for safe and enjoyable entertainment experiences. Until then, fans can continue supporting their favorite musicians by following them online or attending other shows near them.

Impact Of Hurricane Sandy

The devastating impact of Hurricane Sandy had far-reaching consequences, not only for those living in the areas affected but also for events scheduled in New York City. The cancellation of the black ball was a direct result of this powerful storm and its aftermath.

The hurricane caused extensive damage to property, leaving many people without power or basic amenities such as water and sanitation. This made it impossible to carry out large public gatherings like concerts safely. Events were cancelled on an unprecedented scale throughout the region during this period of crisis.

It’s unfortunate that fans won’t be able to enjoy Alicia Keys and Beyoncé together at the moment, but hopefully they will get another chance soon when things return to normal. Organizers are working hard to reschedule the event so everyone can experience their incredible talent live once again.

Conclusion

I. Summary
The highly anticipated ‘Black Ball’ event featuring Alicia Keys and Beyonce was postponed due to the disastrous effects of Hurricane Sandy. This one-night only charity concert was set to take place on October 29th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and promised to be a great success before its unfortunate cancellation.

II. Impact of Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy caused extensive damage throughout many states along the East Coast from flooding, strong winds, and power outages. The amount of destruction it left behind made it impossible for this large scale event to go forward as scheduled which is why organizers had no choice but to postpone until further notice. Millions were affected by this devastating storm and those who planned attend this special night of music and entertainment felt like they too suffered a loss during such a trying time.

III. Conclusion
In times like these it can be difficult to make sense of what happened or understand how something so powerful could cause so much destruction in its wake. All we can do now is come together with love and support each other through our struggles as we move forward from here together as a community stronger than ever before. Hopefully soon enough we will get the chance to experience ‘Black Ball’ with Alicia Keys and Beyonce just as we all expected it would be – an unforgettable evening that unites us all!
