Jill Scott Thinks ‘New Nose’ Will Help Zoe Saldana in Nina Simone Role ?

Do noses and make up help actresses play their roles ? According to Jill Scott, Zoe Saldana should be treated with a prosthetic nose and a little bit of make up when she begins filming for the anticipated Nina Simone biopic.
“I think there should be some work done, like a prosthetic nose would be helpful and definitely some darker makeup,” Scott said in a recent interview.
Explaining why she believes those things will be valuable and maybe more convincing, Scott said Nina Simone was very conscious of her appearance.
“She (Nina Simone) was very adamant about her colour, about her nose, about her shape and her self and there needs to be some homage paid to that,” Scott shared with Hello Beautiful.
Using Forest Whitaker as a valid example, Scott says the fact that he underwent some treatment for “The Last King of Scotland” means Saldana can as well.
“If Forest Whittaker can become darker in The Last King Of Scotland then I believe Nina should be treated with that respect,” said Scott.
Do you agree or is Jill reaching ?

Jill Scott is no stranger to controversy. Recently, the Grammy-winning singer and actress has stirred up a heated debate with her comments on Zoe Saldana’s casting in the upcoming biopic about legendary musician Nina Simone. She believes that having a “new nose” will help Saldana better embody Simone’s iconic look — but not everyone agrees. In this article, we’ll explore Jill Scott’s opinion on the matter, as well as how other people have responded.

Scott made headlines when she spoke out about Saldana’s new role during an interview for “The Breakfast Club,” saying: “They gave [Saldana] a prosthetic nose so I think that should tell you something right there.” This statement was met with both criticism and praise from fans alike. While some agreed with her opinion that it would be beneficial for Saldana to have a “new nose,” others found it offensive and saw it as an attack on women of color who don’t fit Hollywood beauty standards.

In this article, we will delve into Jill Scott’s controversial statements surrounding Zoe Saldana’s portrayal of Nina Simone in the upcoming biopic. We’ll examine what prompted these remarks and how they’ve been received by those within the entertainment industry and beyond.

Jill Scott’s Controversial Opinions

It’s no secret that casting Zoe Saldana to portray the late, great Nina Simone in an upcoming biopic has sparked some serious controversy. Now, singer and actress Jill Scott has added her two cents on the topic – with a rather controversial opinion of her own.

Scott recently tweeted that she believes Saldana’s decision to get a nose job for the role will help her embody Simone better on screen. This statement was met with shock and even outrage from many fans who felt it devalued both Saldana’s talent as an actor and also Simone’s legacy as a powerful black leader.

However, while this tweet may have been ill-advised or poorly timed, we must remember that everyone is entitled to their opinions – regardless of whether they are popular or not. While one can understand why Scott would feel so passionate about honoring the memory of such an iconic figure, it is important to respect other people’s perspectives on the matter at hand.

Zoe Saldana’s Casting In The Nina Simone Biopic

The casting of Zoe Saldana in the upcoming biopic about Nina Simone has sparked much debate within the entertainment industry and beyond. While some think it’s an inspired decision, others feel that a darker-skinned African American actor should have been chosen to play this iconic figure. Regardless of one’s opinion on the matter, it is undeniable that Saldana will bring something unique to her interpretation of Simone – even with her new nose job.

Saldana’s physical transformation for the role has been discussed extensively and many believe she would not need to make such drastic changes to be believable as Simone. However, one must consider how difficult it is for actors to inhabit roles which are vastly different from themselves – not only physically but also mentally or emotionally – and thus respect their choices when they take on these challenging tasks.

That being said, while it remains up for debate if Saldana was truly necessary for this role, no doubt all involved hope that the movie can do justice to Nina Simone’s legacy regardless of who plays her on screen. Ultimately, it comes down to each person’s individual interpretation and preferences; however we ultimately decide to view this controversial casting choice is entirely up to us.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Jill Scott’s opinion on Zoe Saldana being cast in the Nina Simone biopic has sparked a lot of controversy. While some believe that the physical features of an actor should not be relevant to portraying a certain character, others argue that it is necessary for accuracy and realism. Regardless of one’s stance on this issue, what remains true is that everyone deserves respect and understanding when expressing their opinions.

Personally, I think both sides have valid points. On the one hand, we need to recognize that every individual is unique and should be appreciated as such; however, actors must also portray characters realistically and accurately if they are to do justice to them. It might take more than just changing one’s nose for an actor to become a convincing version of another person—but it certainly wouldn’t hurt either!

At the end of the day, only time will tell whether or not Zoe Saldana can bring a realistic portrayal of Nina Simone to life with her new nose or not. In any case, it’s clear that this casting decision has caused quite a stir among fans and critics alike—and there’s no doubt that many eyes will be watching closely over the next few months as this story continues to unfold!
