Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C), the annual televised fundraiser that benefits cancer research across various networks, has announced Alicia Keys as one of many celebs participating and performing for this year’s broadcast. Other performers include Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and Tim McGraw.
The event, hosted by Katie Couric, will air on Friday, Sept. 7 live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC will do their part by donating an hour of commercial free broadcasting. Other networks slated to air the benefit are BIO, E!, ENCORE, HBO, HBO Latino, ION Television, LMN, Logo, MLB Network, mun2, Palladia, SHOWTIME, Smithsonian Channel, STARZ, STYLE, TBS and VH1.
One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to cancer research, viewers will be able to call in or text to donate. In addition people can visit Standup2cancer.org to contribute to the cause.
