Season one of VH1’s hit reality series “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” may not be over, but K. Michelle is throwing her hat in for another season.
“I’m gonna do it,” the talented R&B singer/songwriter told Power 105.1 this week.
K. Michelle’s decision to step up for another round of the show, some have labeled “ratchet,” coincides with a recent conversation she had with MTV.
“I had been singing for so long and no one was listening. I had been helping women who had gone through domestic violence, but no one paid attention,” the “Bury My Heart” and “Girlfriend” singer told MTV.
Looking back, K. Michelle said she had nothing to lose by signing up for the show.
“It wasn’t enough controversy so finally I figured I don’t have anything to lose. As long as I can get my music out and say what I need to say, that’s all that matters.”
K. Michelle can be seen on “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” airing Monday nights at 8 p.m. on VH1.
