What happened to Monica’s BET series “Still Standing” ? Will she shoot a second season ? According to Monica, reality television is not an option at this point.
“Right now ? No. Maybe later,” Monica told Sister 2 Sister this week.
Premiered in 2009, “Monica: Still Standing” documented the R&B veteran’s recording journey, personal life and trials with getting her music out there. Drawing over 3 million viewers, the show was a success and helped Monica reconnect with fans leading up to the release of her aptly titled album “Still Standing.”
While she is saying no to reality television at the moment, Monica is not opposed to allowing cameras in at a later time.
“It’s not anything that I’m against, but I think us building a foundation, we don’t need that right now,” Monica says of reality television and husband Shannon Brown.
For now, Monica is promoting her latest effort “New Life.” Released this Spring, the album features songs like “Until It’s Gone” and “It All Belongs To Me.”
