Jaime Foxx to be Cast as President in Upcoming ‘White House Down’ Film?

Director Roland Emmerich is eying actor-singer Jaime Foxx for the role of U.S. President in his upcoming action-drama film “White House Down.” Variety reports that no formal offer has been made to Foxx, but he is interested in the lead role, and his people have “engaged” Emmerich. No official casting report has been released.

The action film is centered around a secret agent who is chosen to save the president while the White House is taken over by a militia group, described as “‘Die Hard’ in the White House.” Actor Channing Tatum is being eyed for the role as the secret service agent.

Foxx’s next film release is Quentin Tarantino-directed “Django Unchained,” then “Kane & Lynch,” an action film also starring Bruce Willis.
