The Braxton sisters will join Cedric The Entertainer and Niecy Nash on the soon to premiere TV Land series “The Soul Man.”
Announced as guest stars this week, Tamar and Trina Braxton will portray Rose and Catherine Pinkney, two sisters who get caught up in a love triangle with Stamps (Wesley Johnathan) after auditioning for the church choir.
“The Soul Man” revolves around R&B superstar-turned-minister Reverend Boyce “The Voice” Ballentine (Cedric The Entertainer), who was living the high life in Las Vegas at the top of the music charts when he decided to go from soul singer to soul saver.
Relocating to St. Louis with his wife, Lolli (Niecy Nash), and daughter, Lyric (Jazz Raycole), to preach in his father’s church, his family isn’t exactly eager to give up the fabulous superstar life for a humble one. The sitcom also stars John Beasley (“Everwood”) as Boyce’s father, and Wesley Johnathan (“What I Like About You”) as his brother. “The Soul Man” is a spin-off of TV Land’s hit sitcom “Hot in Cleveland.”
Anthony Anderson, Kim Coles, and Sherri Shepherd will also guest star.
The Soul Man premieres Wednesday, June 20 at 10pm on TV Land.
