After launching his latest business venture, R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo has released a 30-second sneak peak teaser for his upcoming video for the Malibu Red theme song, “Burnin’ Up”. The Chris Robinson-directed visuals were shot a few weeks ago in Miami, in which Ne-Yo emphasizes will show a sexier side to the line.
“We wanted to express that…though this is a Malibu product, it’s not Malibu Rum,” Ne-Yo said. “This is the sexier side of what Malibu does, if I do say so myself.”
Since he was unable to find a song fitting enough to portray the new line of liquor, the singer created an original track to serve as the signature sound for the drink. On the song, Ne-Yo explained, “It’s basically talking about how you take the smooth of the rum and the fire of the tequila and bring ’em together to just create a whole ‘nother sexy thing.”
The full video will premiere on April 9th.
